How to identify real and fake khoya? (Adulteration in mawa)

1. To check whether the mawa is real or fake, pour hot water in a bowl. Add a little iodine and one or two spoons of mawa in it. If the khoya appears blue in colour, then understand that something has been mixed in the khoya.

2. When buying mawa, first rub a little on your fingers. If it is real, it will be grainy and smooth. If the fake one is rubbed, it will feel like rubber and will also smell like chemicals.

3. Take some khoya in your palm and make a small ball. If the mawa ball is not smooth and completely round and starts breaking or cracks appear in it, then understand that this khoya is fake. Something has been mixed in it.

4. Whenever you buy mawa from a sweet shop to make sweets at home, taste it a little. If it is real, it will dissolve as soon as it enters your mouth. If it is fake, it will start sticking to your mouth.

5. If the mawa is pure then it will remain good only for 24 hours and impure and fake khoya does not spoil for 6-7 days.

6. Pure khoya has a milky aroma, but fake and adulterated mawa does not have any aroma or fragrance.
